Castillo Finds Groove in 5-1 Triumph
The New York Mets got a rather unremarkable outing from starting pitcher Frank Castillo, but it was good enough for the club to take a 5-1 decision over the Detroit Tigers. The third-place Mets now have a 4-game winning streak.

Castillo, a native of El Paso, Texas, was dealing all game. He kept Detroit hitters off-balance, while giving the Mets 9 quality innings. Castillo threw 123 pitches, allowing 6 hits and striking out 7.

"That's the key at this level, throwing strike one," said Castillo. "Successful pitchers do it."
