Big Game from Alou Not Enough, Giants Lose
|
Baltimore and San Francisco duked it out at Candlestick Park and the Orioles came out victorious.
Moises Alou had a good game, but he could not keep the San Francisco Giants from falling, 5-3, to the Baltimore Orioles at Candlestick Park. The San Francisco left fielder went 3-4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2 in the loss. Baltimore reliever Hector Fajardo picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Bob Sebra took the loss.
Baltimore needed the clutch hitting of Kent Hrbek to notch the win. The first baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Orioles on top, 4-2. For the game, Hrbek had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"It's a long season," said Hrbek. "We'll keep working to improve."
The Orioles, with just their 2nd win so far in 1995, have yet to catch fire.
