Orioles Turn Back Giants, 5-4
|
The San Francisco Giants and Baltimore Orioles cranked it up at Memorial Stadium.
Rondell White had a good game, but he could not keep the San Francisco Giants from falling, 5-4, to the Baltimore Orioles at Memorial Stadium. The San Francisco left fielder was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once in the loss. Roger McDowell notched his 15th save in 16 chances.
The Orioles grabbed the lead in the bottom of the sixth. With two out, Carmelo Martinez hit a 3-run home run off Floyd Youmans, putting Baltimore in front, 5-4. For Martinez, it was his 9th home run of the season.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," San Francisco manager Alen Maglajac said following the tough loss.
The Orioles move to 32-29 with the win, while the Giants drop to 32-29.
