Royals Win at Florida, 6-2
|
Kansas City starter Denny Neagle had a strong outing against the Florida Marlins at Joe Robbie Stadium. The left-hander was a big part of his team's 6-2 win. Neagle, now 1-1, was the winner. In 8.1 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 9, walking 1, and allowing 2 earned runs. With the win, Kansas City boosts its record to 3-4.
Kansas City used the bat of Ray Lankford to get the win. The left fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Royals ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Lankford.
