Pilots Beat Visiting Senators, 6-2
The Seattle Pilots got a stellar performance from pitcher Chris Haney, who handcuffed the Washington offense en route to a 6-2 win at Kingdome. Haney, now 4-1, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 7, walking 3, and allowing 2 earned runs. The third-place Pilots have won 4 straight games.

Vinny Castilla's at-bat in the bottom of the first inning was a big one for Seattle. Coming to bat with two out, a runner on 1st and Seattle leading 2-1, the third baseman hit a 2-run home run.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Haney told the Seattle Chronicle.
