Reds Prove Rude Guests, Win 5-2 at Texas
|
Spirited fans at Arlington Stadium greeted the Texas Rangers for their clash with the Cincinnati Reds.
Cincinnati got a strong outing from Joey Hamilton as the Reds defeated the Texas Rangers, 5-2, at Arlington Stadium. The winning pitcher was Hamilton, now 8-4. He tossed 8 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 6.
The Reds had to work out of trouble in the bottom of the ninth. The score was 5-2, Cincinnati, with one out. Texas, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, was mounting a threat. John Elway dug in at the plate, but on a 0-1 fastball, he flied out.
Cincinnati goes to 37-25. The win puts them 2 games up in their division.
