The Texas Rangers defeated the Cincinnati Reds, 4-3, in Federal League action at Arlington Stadium, with Texas pitcher David West named player of the game. The Rangers sit in 4th place in the Federal League Central Division with a record of 29-34.

John Kruk was the walk-off hero for Texas. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Rangers first baseman hit a dramatic solo home run to send the teams home.

"This place went bonkers at the end," West said.
