Expos Score Late, Stun Dodgers, 2-1
|
The Montreal Expos got a magnificent performance from pitcher Matt Young, who muffled the Los Angeles offense en route to a tight 2-1 Expos win at Olympic Stadium. The Expos own a robust 44-19 mark.
Had Todd Hundley not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Hundley hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Expos.
"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Montreal skipper David Polakoff. "I can't complain."
