Yankees Stumble, Lose to Rangers
|
Getting an impressive start from Angel Miranda, Texas beat New York by the score of 8-0. Miranda, now 8-4, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 4, walking 2, and allowing no earned runs. The current losing streak for New York has reached 6 games.
A crucial at-bat came with the bases empty and no one out in the top of the sixth inning. That's when third baseman Mike Lansing, who is tied for 7th in the FL with a .304 batting average, hit a double. The Rangers went on to win.
"We had a good game plan," Miranda said, "and we were able to execute it."
