Buhner Hits 2 home runs in Sun Rays Win
|
The Orlando Sun Rays coasted to a win over the Chicago White Sox, 10-3. Jay Buhner had a good day at the plate for Orlando. He was 2-3 with 2 home runs and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3. Cal Eldred, who went 6.1 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 3 runs on 7 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 9. His record now stands at 1-1. Bryn Smith, credited with the save, is now 1 for 1 in save opportunities.
Orlando took a 6-3 lead on Buhner's 2nd home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which he hit off Jeff Brantley in the bottom of the sixth, propelled Orlando to the win.
"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Ben Tennyson said.
Orlando, now 26-38, holds last place in the Federal League East Division.
