Reed Cruises to Shutout
|
Rick Reed was in a mood to talk following the Kansas City Royals contest against the New York Yankees, expounding to BNN reporters on his pitching philosophy. He had good reason to be excitable, having tossed a complete game shutout of the Yankees, 4-0.
"There are three important elements in pitching success: location, location, and location," Reed said. "I was hitting my spots time and time again."
The right-hander blanked New York on a 5-hitter, allowing 1 walk and racking up 4 strikeouts.
Reed has taken the mound for no relief appearances this season, nailing down no saves while notching a 7-3 record with a 3.61 ERA. The Kansas City reliever has limited opposing batters to a .226 batting average.
