Jordan goes 4-for-4 to Power Sun Rays Offense
|
The Orlando Sun Rays stopped the Kansas City Royals, 7-4, behind an impressive performance from Brian Jordan. The 28-year old center fielder made life miserable for Kansas City pitching. He went 4 for 4 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. Andy Benes got credit for the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed 4 runs on 8 hits in 5.1 innings. The Sun Rays, with just their 2nd win so far in 1995, have yet to catch fire.
Orlando took a 6-4 lead on Jordan's 9th hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which he hit off Mike Stanton in the top of the sixth, propelled Orlando to the win.
"If it's down the middle," said Jordan, "you might as well hit it."
