Third Baseman Williams hits 2 home runs, Steals Spotlight in St. Louis Rout
Matt Williams made an impact in the 12-2 St. Louis win over Boston. Williams, who is on pace to hit 66 home runs this season, was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. The Cardinals have an impressive 42-24 record.

Williams contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for St. Louis in the bottom of the third. With his team trailing 2-1, Williams took a fastball from Jose DeLeon and stroked the home run to right. His 27th home run of the season allowed the Cardinals to leap in front, 4-2.

"This is a very good team," said Williams. "We have the chance to do something special."
