The San Francisco Giants picked up a win at Candlestick Park, knocking off the New York Mets, 3-2. Starting pitcher Mike Harkey played a key role in the triumph. The Giants bumped their record to 35-30 with this latest triumph.
Having an impact for San Francisco was Craig Shipley. In the bottom of the sixth inning, the 31-year old first baseman had a run-scoring single to make the score 3-0, Giants.
"Both teams played hard," said San Francisco manager Alen Maglajac.
