Creams Clip Reds in Tight Contest
The Creams had to overcome a fine performance from Cincinnati pitcher Mike Mussina to grab a 6-4 win at Riverfront Stadium. Mussina allowed 2 earned runs over 7 innings. The winner was Matt Young, who threw 111 pitches over 7 innings. The left-hander was charged with 4 runs on 5 hits. The second-place Creams improved to 38-28.

Milwaukee used the bat of Jorge Posada to get the win. The catcher hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Creams ahead, 6-4. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.

"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Posada said.
