Red Sox Stumble, Lose to Cardinals
The St. Louis Cardinals defeated the Boston Red Sox, 8-2, at Busch Stadium today. Leading the charge for St. Louis was first baseman Ivan Calderon. He was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Joe Johnson earned the win to go to 5-4. He allowed 2 earned runs on 8 hits, with 3 walks and 3 strikeouts. The Cardinals have an impressive 43-24 record.

Dan Wilson put St. Louis in front, 3-0, when he took Roger Salkeld downtown. His 2-run home run came with two out in the bottom of the second. It was his 5th home run of the season.
