Garciaparra Helps Charlotte Cruise to 10-2 Win
The Charlotte Knights dealt the Orlando Devil Rays a 10-2 loss at Comiskey Park. Nomar Garciaparra was the star on offense. He was 3-5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 5. Erik Hanson, the winner, improved to 8-2. He held Orlando to 1 earned run on 5 hits over 6.1 innings, while racking up 8 strikeouts. The Knights bumped their record to 34-33 with this latest triumph.

Shane Mack had a big 2-run single for the Knights in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Charlotte leading 3-2 and the bases loaded, he got a cutter from Shawn Estes and stroked the single to right-center. It was his 64th hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Knights ahead, 5-2.

"We had a nice day," said Charlotte skipper Tyler Vuxta.
