Seattle Makes It 7 Straight with 7-4 Win
|
The Seattle Pilots defeated the Washington Senators, 7-4. Earning player of the game honors was designated hitter Alvin Davis, who was 3-6 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Alan Embree picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Cliff Young was tagged with the loss. Seattle has now won 7 in a row.
Seattle catcher Terry Steinbach had a game-changing at-bat in the top of the 13th. On a curveball from Rosario Rodriguez, he launched a 3-run home run. It gave Seattle a 7-4 lead.
"We'll keep playing hard and let the chips fall where they may," said Seattle manager Robert O'Neill.
