Maddux KOs Senators
|
Los Angeles beat Washington at Dodger Stadium, eking out a 2-1 win. The win was due in large part to pitcher Greg Maddux, who earned player of the game honors. Jerry DiPoto, credited with the save, is now 8 for 14 in save opportunities. The Dodgers now have a mark of 33-33.
Maddux earned the win to move to 9-1. In his 8-inning performance, he scattered 2 hits, striking out 9 and walking 1. The right-hander allowed the Senators few scoring opportunities.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Los Angeles skipper Andrew Cole.
