Pratt Slugs Rockies to 5-4 Win
|
Behind a solid performance from catcher Todd Pratt, the Colorado Rockies defeated the Toronto Blue Jays, 5-4. Pratt hit 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for the Rockies. Colorado reliever Mike Timlin got the win, raising his record to 2-6. Dana Kiecker was tagged with the loss. Joey Eischen notched his 6th save in 8 chances.
Pratt had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 2-1 curveball from Dana Kiecker, he banged a 2-run home run to left-center, giving the Rockies a 5-3 lead. It was the 6th home run of the year for Pratt.
"Both teams played hard," said Colorado manager JD Morris.
The Rockies now have a mark of 31-34.
