Benefiting from Rico Brogna's productive game, the Texas Rangers downed the Chicago Cubs, 10-9. Brogna was 2 for 3 with a double and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Rangers. Reliever Rob Murphy picked up the win. His record improves to 4-6. Tim Burke took the loss. With the win, Texas has a record of 32-35. Chicago falls to 38-28.

Mark Loretta was the walk-off hero for Texas. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Rangers second baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
