Senators Prove Rude Guests, Win 7-4 at Toronto

Behind a solid performance from designated hitter Fred McGriff, the Washington Senators defeated the Toronto Blue Jays, 7-4. McGriff was 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for the Senators. John Burkett was the winning pitcher. Over 6.1 innings, he allowed 4 runs on 6 hits, with 3 walks and 6 strikeouts. With the victory, the Senators record now stands at 35-33.
With Washington leading 2-0 in the top of the third, McGriff hit a fastball from Steve Karsay for a 3-run home run. It was his 12th home run of the season and put the Senators ahead, 5-0.
