The Cincinnati Reds got a stellar effort from pitcher Jim Abbott, helping Cincinnati score a 8-2 win over the visiting New York Yankees. The Reds bumped their record to 38-32 with this latest triumph.
Abbott, who was born in Flint, Michigan, threw 117 pitches over 9 innings, while allowing 2 earned runs.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Cincinnati manager Eric Deutsch.
