Jackson goes 3-for-4, Leads Blue Jays to Win
|
A 4-RBI performance from Darrin Jackson helped the Toronto Blue Jays beat the Baltimore Orioles, 9-6. John Smiley, who went 7 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 5 runs on 9 hits, while walking 0 and striking out 8. His record now stands at 5-4. The 4th-place Blue Jays improved to 36-34.
With Toronto leading 6-5 in the top of the sixth, Jackson hit a fastball from T J Mathews for a 3-run home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Blue Jays ahead, 9-5.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Jackson, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
