VanLandingham Dazzles in Oakland Win
|
Oakland starter William VanLandingham pitched effectively against the Seattle Pilots at Kingdome. The right-hander led his team to a 4-1 win. Jay Howell, credited with the save, is now 13 for 14 in save opportunities. Oakland now has a 3-game win streak.
VanLandingham, now 1-0, scattered 4 hits over 8.2 innings for the Athletics.
"We'll savor this win," VanLandingham told the Oakland Today, "then get ready for the next game."
