Dominant Performance by Sanders in San Francisco Win
|
The San Francisco Giants got a strong performance from pitcher Scott Sanders, who stymied the Montreal offense en route to a 3-1 win at Candlestick Park. Randy Myers closed the game out for San Francisco, earning his 2nd save. The Giants, now 6-1, have been playing some good baseball.
Sanders made it look easy. He scattered 2 hits over 8 innings, while racking up 9 strikeouts. The right-hander upped his season record to 1-0.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Sanders. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
