The Montreal Expos defeated the San Diego Padres, 6-3, at Jack Murphy Stadium today. Leading the charge for Montreal was first baseman Matt Williams. He went 2-4 with 2 home runs. Ed Correa nailed down his 1st save. The Expos raised their record to 6-1.
Carlos Quintana had a chance to do some damage in the bottom of the seventh. With San Diego trailing 5-2, San Diego had runners on 1st and 3rd. Quintana grounded out, driving in 1 run. But it was not enough. San Diego would not finish the comeback.
