Red Sox Stymie Pittsburgh, Take 4-1 Win
The Boston Red Sox went home winners at Three Rivers Stadium, thanks in large part to starter Roger Salkeld. Salkeld silenced the Pittsburgh Pirates, enabling Boston to grab the 4-1 win. The Pirates, now 37-33, have lost 4 in a row.

One important at-bat came with the bases loaded in the top of the second inning. Facing Pittsburgh hurler David Nied, Mike Cameron drew a walk, driving in 1 run. The Red Sox went on to win.

"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Red Sox manager Brett Williams, "I like our chances."
