Twins Top Cubs Behind Nomo, 3-1
|
Minnesota Twins starter Hideo Nomo was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Chicago Cubs, 3-1. Minnesota, at 32-39, occupies 5th place in the Federal League Central Division.
Nomo, the winner, is now 3-6. In 8 innings of work, he gave up 1 earned run on 4 hits, while collecting 7 Ks. He essentially shut down the Chicago offense.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Nomo told the Minnesota Times.
