The New York Mets topped the Baltimore Orioles by the score of 3-1, with the biggest share of the credit going to right fielder Magglio Ordonez. Ordonez was 2 for 2 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Mets on the day. The third-place Mets improved to 39-33.
