A 4-RBI performance from Tino Martinez, who is tied for 8th in the UL in runs scored with 49, helped the Detroit Tigers beat the Toronto Blue Jays, 4-3. With the win, Detroit goes to 24-47, while the Blue Jays fall to 37-35.

Martinez had a game-changing single in the bottom of the 11th. On a first pitch sinker from Curt Brown, he banged a run-scoring single to left, giving the Tigers a 4-3 lead. It was the 74th hit of the year for Martinez.

"Both teams played hard," said Detroit manager Julio Izquierdo.
