Victory Pushes Dodgers Record to 38-34

The Seattle Pilots got a sterling performance from catcher Francisco Cabrera, but the Dodgers still prevailed, 7-5. Cabrera was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He was 3-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. The winner was Los Angeles reliever Bill Wilkinson, now 1-0. The loser was Alex Fernandez. Scott Radinsky was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 1 of 2 save opportunities.
Ryan Klesko, who is tied for 7th in the UL with a .364 on-base percentage, chipped in for Los Angeles with a solo home run in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the designated hitter had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 2 runs batted in.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Los Angeles manager Dave Ginter.
