Mets Prove Rude Guests, Win 10-5 at Seattle
|
The New York Mets defeated the Seattle Pilots, 10-5, at Kingdome today. Leading the charge for New York was right fielder Sammy Sosa. He went 3-3 with 3 singles, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 times. New York starter Bob Milacki was credited with the win after throwing 123 pitches over 8 innings. His record now stands at 5-8. New York bumps their record to 43-30 with the win.
It could have been a different outcome for New York, had it not been for Pedro Munoz, the 25-year old left fielder . Munoz contributed a bases-clearing double in the top of the seventh inning to put New York up, 8-5.
"I like our moxie," said Mets manager Michael Kritikos.
