Marlins Stymie San Francisco, Take 5-1 Win
|
Dana Kiecker never let the Giants get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his fastball, to pitch the Marlins to a 5-1 win. Kiecker picked up the win for Florida, going 7.1 innings. He gave up no runs on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 3-4. Jeff Keener, credited with the save, is now 6 for 10 in save opportunities.
Having an impact for Florida was Carlos Delgado. In the top of the seventh inning, the top prospect had a run-scoring double to make the score 1-0, Marlins.
Delgado called the win "a collective effort."
Florida now sits at 31-43, while San Francisco falls to 42-33.
