5 Straight Wins for Spiders
|
The Cleveland Spiders picked up a win at League Park, knocking off the Texas Rangers, 3-1. Starting pitcher Pete Schourek was an essential part of his team's success. Schourek picked up the win for Cleveland, going 8 innings. He gave up 1 run on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 5-7. Cleveland now has a 5-game win streak.
With no one out in the bottom of the fourth, Howard Johnson had a game-changing hit. The Spiders designated hitter slammed a run-scoring triple off Derek Lilliquist, making the score 2-1, Cleveland.
"It's always a heck of a lot easier to get to sleep after a win," Schourek told the Cleveland Daily. "I know I'll rest easy tonight."
