Giants Lose to Marlins, 2-1
|
Florida starter Chris Hammond had a strong outing against the San Francisco Giants at Candlestick Park. The left-hander was a big part of his team's 2-1 win. The 4th-place Marlins lifted their record to 32-43.
Carlos Delgado had a nice at-bat for the Marlins with two out in the top of the ninth. With runners on 1st and 2nd, the first baseman drew a walk, which would prove important in the Florida win.
Delgado told a Florida Observer reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
