Seattle got an elite performance from starting pitcher Randy Johnson in taking a 4-1 decision over the Detroit Tigers. The Pilots move to 36-40 with the win, while the Tigers drop to 26-49.
Johnson was in the zone all game. He frustrated Detroit hitters while giving the Pilots 8 innings of quality work. Johnson threw 121 pitches, allowing 3 hits and getting 11 punchouts.
