Bryan Rekar pitched a gem to lead Arizona to a 9-1 victory over the Washington Senators. The Diamondbacks' win now puts them at 40-37.

Moises Alou had a big 2-run home run for the Diamondbacks in the bottom of the third inning. With Arizona leading 2-1 and a runner on 3rd, he got a fastball from Jim Neidlinger and stroked the home run to right. It was his 16th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Diamondbacks ahead, 4-1.

"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Rekar told the Arizona Herald.
