Lieber Sharp, Whitewashes Athletics
|
Today was Jon Lieber's turn in the rotation for the Montreal Expos and he made the most of it, shutting out the Oakland Athletics on 2 hits.
The 25-year-old right-hander led the Expos to an easy 7-0 victory, allowing 3 walks and tallying 7 strikeouts.
"I hope we miss him next time," Oakland manager Jim B said. "Lieber certainly pitched a strong game against us today. He was in a groove, throwing everything for strikes. Throwing hard. Changing speeds."
