The Kansas City Royals defeated the Orlando Devil Rays, 4-3, in Federal League action at Orlando Citrus Bowl, with Kansas City pitcher Kevin Brown named player of the game. Kansas City is now 50-26, 6½ games up in the Federal League Central Division.

Brown gave Kansas City a solid start. The right-hander, who is listed at 6' 4", 205 lbs, allowed 2 runs on 4 hits over 8 innings.

"Kevin was throwing strikes, locating well," said Kansas City manager Daniel Drucker.
