Creams Prevail, 3-2, Over Cleveland
|
Milwaukee Creams starter Teddy Higuera pitched effectively against the Cleveland Spiders at Milwaukee County Stadium. The left-hander spearheaded his team's 3-2 win. Milwaukee reliever Jeff Calhoun picked up the win, upping his record to 7-3. Bob Sebra shouldered the loss. The Creams go to 45-33, putting them second in the Federal League Central Division.
The Creams got a big at-bat from third baseman Chipper Jones. For the game, Jones went 2 for 4 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the seventh, with a runner on 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 87th hit of the season gave Milwaukee a 3-2 lead.
