Victory Pushes Giants Record to 43-34
|
The San Francisco Giants picked up a win at Candlestick Park, knocking off the Montreal Expos, 3-2. Starting pitcher Bob Sebra was an essential part of his team's success. Sebra, the winner, moves to 8-4. He threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 7 and giving up 2 walks. Randy Myers converted his 17th save in 19 tries.
A decisive at-bat came in the bottom of the sixth inning. With a runner on 2nd, the batter, Alvin Davis, hit a run-scoring double. It made the score 2-1, San Francisco, and helped them go on to win.
Davis said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
The Giants bumped their record to 43-34 with this latest triumph.
