Pirates Get Road Win, 7-4
The St. Louis Cardinals got a superb performance from pitcher Steve Olin. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Pittsburgh. The Pirates won the game, 7-4. In spite of the loss, Olin was named the player of the game. He came in in relief and pitched to 18 batters . Pittsburgh is now 40-37, St. Louis 45-34.

With Pittsburgh leading 2-0 in the top of the fourth, Geronimo Berroa hit a 2-run double off St. Louis pitcher Bill C. Swift. It put the Pirates ahead 4-0.

"I felt good up there," said Berroa. "I saw the ball well."
