Perez Helps Charlotte Cruise to 10-3 Win
The Charlotte Knights grabbed a 10-3 win over the Florida Marlins at Comiskey Park. Charlotte second baseman Neifi Perez was 4 for 5 with 4 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 to earn player of the game honors. The win boosts the Knights to 40-39. The loss puts the Marlins at 48-29.

A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd and one out in the bottom of the third inning. That's when center fielder Carl Everett, who led the FL in slugging percentage with .672 in 1994, drew a walk. The Knights went on to win.

"I was able to barrel up some pitches," said Perez.
