Walk-Off Victory for Yankees Takes Record to 31-49
|
The Orlando Sun Rays wasted an impressive 8.1-inning effort from starter Andy Benes, falling 2-1 to the New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium. The 4th-place Sun Rays have dropped 7 straight games.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when New York first baseman Don Mattingly, facing Andy Benes, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Yankees the 2-1 win.
"If you ever get this game figured out," said Orlando manager Ben Tennyson, "let me know."
