Pirates Win at Cincinnati, 7-4
|
Cincinnati center fielder Eric Davis had a good game, even if his team did not. The Reds dropped a 7-4 decision to Pittsburgh at Riverfront Stadium. Davis went 2-3 with a home run, a triple, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Bryan Clark, credited with the save, is now 1 for 3 in save opportunities. Pittsburgh is now riding a 3-game win streak.
Pittsburgh used the timely hitting of Mark Whiten to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the third inning to put the Pirates on top, 3-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Whiten told the Pittsburgh Bulletin.
