The New York Mets defeated the Detroit Tigers, 4-3, in United League action at Tiger Stadium, with New York pitcher Jason Isringhausen named player of the game. Isringhausen picked up the win for New York, going 6.1 innings. He gave up 3 runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 5-5. Darren Holmes converted his 1st save in 1 tries.
