Montreal Expos starter Chris Nabholz pitched effectively against the Baltimore Orioles at Olympic Stadium. The left-hander spearheaded his team's 5-3 win. Ed Correa notched his 11th save in 14 chances. The win boosts the Expos to 48-31. The loss puts the Orioles at 34-45.

In the bottom of the sixth, the Expos took a 5-2 lead when John Jaha hit a 2-run single.

"You've got to ride the highs and the lows in baseball in order to succeed," Nabholz told the Montreal Herald. "Right now I'm feeling good, but that don't mean squat for tomorrow."
