The Arizona Diamondbacks trumped the Seattle Pilots, 6-5, at Kingdome. Arizona catcher Bobby M Estalella was named player of the game for his performance. He went 4 for 8 with a home run and 3 singles. Reliever Kelvim Escobar picked up the win. His record improves to 5-4. Jose Lima took the loss. The Diamondbacks, at 43-38, lead by one game in their division.
In the top of the 15th inning of a 5-5 tie, Arizona left fielder Chad Curtis drew a walk, driving in 1 run. It broke the deadlock and put Arizona on top, 6-5.
"Our guys just had that look of determination," said winning manager Alen Maglajac.
