The Toronto Blue Jays defeated the Washington Senators, 7-6. Earning player of the game honors was left fielder Dante Bichette, who went 3-5 with 2 home runs and a double, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 4. The third-place Blue Jays lifted their record to 46-36.

Bichette had a game-changing home run in the top of the tenth. On a 3-1 fastball from Mark Wohlers, he banged a solo home run to left, giving the Blue Jays a 6-5 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Bichette.

"The game of baseball will test you," said Jose Mata, the Toronto skipper. "This one tested us."
