Ken Griffey Jr. had a good game, but he could not keep the Seattle Pilots from falling, 10-8, to the Arizona Diamondbacks at Kingdome. The Seattle center fielder was 4-5 with a home run and 3 doubles. He scored 3 times in the loss. The winner was Bryan Rekar in relief. His record improves to 3-0. Derek Lilliquist took the loss. Arizona has now won 3 in a row.

Arizona used the timely hitting of Bobby M Estalella to seize the win. The catcher stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Diamondbacks on top, 8-7. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"This game had a little bit of everything," said Estalella.
