Spiders Snatch 4-3 Win
The Cleveland Spiders got a rather unremarkable outing from starting pitcher Bob Sebra, but it was good enough for the club to take a 4-3 decision over the Cincinnati Reds. In 8 innings, Sebra surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 2. He allowed 3 runs. Steve Karsay earned his 20th save in 27 chances.

Cleveland used the bat of Howard Johnson to get the win. The first baseman hammered a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Spiders ahead, 4-3. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.

"Coulda, shoulda, woulda," said Cincinnati manager Eric Deutsch. "We had our chances and didn't cash in."

The Spiders saw their record improve to 42-40.
