Royals Win at Milwaukee, 5-3
|
Kansas City pitcher Denny Neagle did his part in helping his team beat the Milwaukee Creams, 5-3. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Neagle picked up the win for Kansas City, going 8 innings. He gave up 3 runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 10-4. Armando Benitez was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 18 of 23 save opportunities.
Kansas City used the bat of Reggie L. Sanders to get the win. The left fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Royals ahead, 4-3. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it did its damage.
Sanders told a Kansas City News reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
Kansas City is now 53-29, 4½ games up in the Federal League Central Division.
