Pettitte, Senators Dispatch Orioles
|
Washington played host to Baltimore at the friendly confines of RFK Stadium.
Baltimore had no answer for Washington Senators hurler Andy Pettitte, who overwhelmed Orioles hitters as the Senators coasted to a 10-1 victory. At 44-38, the Senators find themselves in third place in the United League East Division.
Pettitte, who leaned on his fastball, allowed 1 run on just 3 hits over 8 innings for the Senators. For the most part, Baltimore hitters were simply overmatched.
"Andy did a tremendous job," said Washington manager Alexander Cumana.
